Information used for verification

License verification may involve your name, date of birth, address, driver’s-license details, document images, a live selfie, device information, and fraud signals. Insurance verification may include your carrier, policy status, effective dates, coverage information, listed drivers, and policy documents.

How the information is used

We use verification results to confirm identity, evaluate rental eligibility, prevent fraud, review reservation requests, satisfy insurance or legal requirements, and protect guests and fleet vehicles. Automated results may be referred to authorized staff for manual review.

Service providers

When enabled, Stripe Identity processes license and selfie information, and Canopy Connect processes insurance information that you choose to share. Their hosted experiences present their own terms and consent notices.

Rideshare applications and documents

The rideshare program collects your name, account email, phone, city, age-range answer, license-status answer, driving-history category, platform information, timing and readiness answers. Save progress stores a draft with your account; submitting makes your application available in the owner review workspace. No payment is collected by submitting an application.

The private document center can store license-front and license-back images, proof of address, platform profile screenshots, and insurance or earnings documents when requested. These uploads are linked to your rideshare application and can be accessed by you and authorized administrators through temporary links. Uploaded license copies are stored by this app for manual review; they are not an automated identity or motor-vehicle-record check. Do not upload Social Security cards, payment cards, passwords or banking credentials. Redact unrelated financial account numbers.

Files are limited to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, 10 MB each, with two per category. Type and size checks do not constitute malware certification or verification of the contents. Only provide documents relevant to your application. Contact us using the details below for a replacement or deletion request, identifying your application reference; do not email sensitive documents. Requests are reviewed subject to applicable recordkeeping, dispute and fraud-prevention needs. A submitted application, uploaded file or review status does not reserve a vehicle or establish insurance coverage.

Vehicle photos and trip evidence

Main-driver arrival, pickup, return, and incident photos are stored as private files linked to your reservation. They are used to document vehicle condition, review trip issues, and support reimbursement, insurance, or damage workflows. The owner compares the main-driver arrival photo with the verified license before manually releasing the lockbox code. Arrival photos are not automatically face-matched by this app. These files are not placed in the public vehicle gallery.

Storage, access, and deletion

Car Rentals R Us stores the provider reference, verification status, timestamps, and limited audit information needed to operate the reservation. When a hosted verification provider is used, its raw license images, identity-provider selfies, and carrier-login credentials stay with that provider. License images uploaded separately to the rideshare document center are stored privately by this app for manual review, as described above. Insurance proof uploaded to this app and the separate driver-at-car photo are stored privately with the reservation. The guest and authorized owner can view these through temporary access links. Access is restricted to authorized personnel. Retention or deletion requests are handled subject to applicable legal, fraud-prevention, insurance, and recordkeeping requirements.

Your choices

License verification, passed security screening and accepted rental coverage are required before approval. Submit existing full coverage or non-owner coverage for review; the coverage must be accepted for your particular rental. Third-party coverage purchase is not available yet. If you cannot use a hosted verification method, contact us for an alternative review process.
